RAPT

RAPT is a design and analysis tool for reinforced and post tensioned concrete columns, slabs and beams. The RAPT analysis and design package for reinforced and post tensioned concrete structural systems has been written and developed by practising structural engineers as an everyday design tool. It is comprehensive in its treatment of the analysis and design of structural concrete.

Features and benefits

Reinforced and Post Tensioned Structural Concrete Design

RAPT allows optimisation of a prestressed concrete solution with the ability to investigate a number of possible configurations to a high degree of accuracy very rapidly.

RAPT can be used with IBM compatible personal computers and will perform design and analysis to the following National Concrete Design Standards:

  • AS 3600
  • AS 1480/AS 1481
  • BS 8100
  • ACI 318-83
  • EUROCODE 2
  • SABS 0100

Other codes based on those listed above can be emulated using the large range of variable default settings in RAPT. Also extra codes may be added on request.

In RAPT an integrated approach to reinforced and post tensioned design is adopted, consistent with the concept of partial prestressing.

General Concrete Members

Non-prismatic concrete members with multiple concrete layers can be defined using a series of trapezoidal concrete shapes to define basically any concrete cross section and evaluation.

Concrete Floor Systems

RAPT will design the following floor systems:

  • Flat slab/flat plate
  • Beam and slab (1 or 2 way)
  • Slab and band systems
  • Beam systems, transfer beams etc.

Graphics

RAPT utilises graphics for display of input geometry, loading and reinforcement data. Cable profiles, bending moment and shear diagrams, reinforcement requirements, section capacities under ultimate and service load conditions, shear reinforcement and capacities and deflections are displayed in high resolution graphics allowing zooming and detailed data at all points.

Input/Output

Input is interactive, with spreadsheet style entries. Commonly used parameters are defaulted. The entire package is menu driven with logical datachecks at all input stages. The user is prompted for non-default information.

Output is selective, with several editing and formatting options. Reports are suitable as stand alone computations with all input data summarised.
